The PerformaBuilt Hydramatic 400 Racing Transmission is a monster performance transmission capable of 1000 plus rear wheel horse power and is available in either an auto/stick for the dual purpose vehicle or full/manual for the race only intended use or for those who prefer to shift manually at all times and be in full control.
Its’ features include the following components and modifications

| 1. We start by cleaning the case in our hot cleaner. Then the case is heated to 250 degrees to remove all water residue. It is then checked carefully for any cracks or distortion and while cooling is finished with a high gloss aluminum/gray sealant the allowed to finish cooling providing a hard durable finish that is oil and stain resistant for you show guys. |

| 2. We then inspect the rear planets carefully and install the heavy duty roller clutch and cage then install the assembly into the case. Then the HD low reverse band is installed and band clearance checked and set. |

| 3. The center support is then inspected and resealed then installed into the case and the support bolt torqued to spec and the rear end play tested and adjusted as necessary. Then the Raybeastos Performance/heavy duty frictions are installed. The new intermediate overun braking band is then installed. |

| 4. Now the direct clutch is replaced with the 4L80E direct drum and 34 element sprag assembly sealed and the 34 element sprag and race installed again Raybestos Performance/heavy duty frictions and new steels are installed and clearance set. The assembly is the installed into the case and the drum is static air tested for proper operation. |

| 5. The forward clutch is then assembled and heavy duty frictions installed and tested on the front pump assembly. Special modifications are also made to nearly double holding power in this drum. |

6. The pump is carefully inspected checked for straightness new bushing installed and assembled then installed in the case Along with the boost valve. |

| 7. The valve body for this we first disassemle and check all valves for proper motion then install The ordered shift set up either full manual or auto/stick setup and install a performance filter. A new ajustable modulator is also installed at this time and The Transmission as with all our units is tested for proper operations and Line presure. |
